Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the difference in understanding learning outcomes between students who use learning games and those who do not, specifically in the subject of Natural Sciences, focusing on temperature materials and changes, among class VII students at SMP Islam Tathmainul Quluub Sindang. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study involved two classes: one served as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The experimental group was taught using learning games, whereas the control group received traditional lecture-based instruction. Both groups underwent a pretest and a posttest. The data analysis revealed that the average post-test score for the experimental group was 75.35, compared to 63.21 for the control group. The conclusion drawn from the study is that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between students who use learning games and those who do not. Students who engage with learning games demonstrate better understanding of the subject matter than those who do not.
