The Role of Family Economic Education in Preventing School Dropouts and Reducing the Number of Migrant Workers

The high school dropout rate and the high flow of non-procedural international labor migration (Indonesian Migrant Workers/PMI) have been perennial structural challenges in rural areas of Indramayu Regency. This study aims to analyze the role of family economic education in mitigating the risk of children dropping out of school and suppressing the tendency of youth migration through the internalization of financial literacy and local entrepreneurial orientation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method in three key villages, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 25 heads of families, participant observation, and secondary documentation from the Manpower Office and the Education Office of Indramayu Regency. The results show that families who implement structured economic education—through instilling a culture of saving, differentiation between consumption and investment, and involving children in managing micro-enterprises based on local potential (agribusiness and maritime)—have higher financial resilience. Internalization of these values has been shown to significantly reduce the probability of children dropping out of school at the secondary level. Furthermore, mature economic literacy at the domestic level shifts children's future orientation from relying on physical migration abroad to creating digital-based economic opportunities and local commodities. This study recommends the need for integration of family financial assistance models (economic parenting) in community empowerment programs at the village level.

GEN AKAR (Generation of Children with Character): Optimizing an Educational and Participatory Approach in Character Education

Character building in children has become one of the main focuses in contemporary education. The rapid development of technology, negative social influences, and limited social supervision present significant challenges in shaping a generation with strong morals and integrity. The GEN AKAR (Generasi Anak Berkarakter) program was introduced as a strategic initiative to instill moral, social, and spiritual values from an early age. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the GEN AKAR program in developing children's character through educational and participatory approaches. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings indicate that the GEN AKAR program effectively improves children's discipline, responsibility, and social awareness. Through consistent and collaborative efforts among schools, families, and communities, the program is considered effective in supporting the character development of the younger generation.

Characteristics of Early Childhood Education Principal Leadership and Its Contribution to The Quality of Early Childhood Education

The leadership of Early Childhood Education (ECE) principals plays a crucial role in determining the quality of education and holistic development of children. This study aims to identify and analyze the leadership characteristics of ECE principals that most influence educational success, particularly in the context of developing students' character. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of articles published in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals within the last ten years. Thematic analysis was used to extract patterns and themes from the literature meeting the inclusion criteria. The review results indicate that leadership in ECE is relational and contextual, with dominant characteristics including effective communication, positive relationships with parents and the community, and collaborative decision-making. Transformational leadership proven to have a significant influence on teacher motivation (p < 0.05). These findings confirm that strengthening the communication, relational, and collaboration capacities of ECE principals is a key strategy in improving the quality of early childhood education. This study contributes to the development of a relational leadership model in ECE and provides practical implications for the professional development of ECE principals.

Religious Moderation in the Life of the Eretan Wetan Village Community: A Study of Changes in Religious Practices and Understanding

Religious moderation has become an important approach in maintaining social and religious harmony within Indonesian society, which is characterized by diverse cultural traditions and religious interpretations. Eretan Wetan Village, located in Indramayu Regency, represents a coastal community with dynamic socio-religious characteristics due to the interaction between local traditions, religious education development, modernization, and technological transformation. This study aims to examine how religious practices and understandings among the people of Eretan Wetan have changed and how the values of religious moderation are manifested in their daily social life. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observations, interviews with religious leaders, community figures, and local residents, as well as documentation of socio-religious activities. The findings indicate that religious moderation in Eretan Wetan is reflected through a balanced religious attitude that combines religious commitment with appreciation for local cultural traditions. Changes in religious practices are evident through the growth of religious education activities, the use of digital media for religious communication, and shifts in the religious orientation of younger generations. Nevertheless, the community continues to maintain values of tolerance, mutual cooperation, and respect for differences. This study highlights that religious moderation is not merely a theoretical concept but also a social practice constructed through everyday experiences within the community.

Kiai Leadership and The Formation of Moderate Character of Students at Al-Amin Indramayu Islamic Boarding School

Religious polarization, violence rooted in narrow interpretations, and the rapid circulation of provocative digital content require Islamic boarding schools to strengthen religious moderation in concrete ways. This study analyzes kiai leadership in developing moderate character among students at Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School in Indramayu. The discussion focuses on exemplary leadership, educational policy, daily habituation, communication patterns, educative discipline, acceptance of local culture, and digital literacy. This research employed a qualitative case-study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of daily activities, and institutional document analysis; informants were purposively selected from the kiai, caregivers, teachers, student administrators, and students. The data were analyzed thematically. The findings show that the kiai develops moderate character through four main functions: moral exemplar, policy director, dialogical communicator, and manager of educative discipline. These processes foster students who are religiously committed, respectful of differences, patriotic, non-violent, selective toward local culture, and responsible in digital spaces. The effectiveness of this development depends on consistent exemplary conduct, alignment between curriculum and pesantren culture, and documented character evaluation.

The Effectiveness of English Songs on Listening Skill for Eight Graders at SMP Misaya Mina

This study investigated the effectiveness of using English songs to improve students' listening skills, employing a quantitative pre-experimental research design with a one-group pre-test and post-test. The research was conducted on 30 students from class VIII-A at SMP Misaya Mina Kandanghaur Indramayu, with data collected from May 28 to June 3, 2025. The primary instrument was a gap-filling task based on song lyrics, designed to measure listening comprehension. Before the main experiment, the instrument's validity and reliability were meticulously tested. A validity test confirmed that 10 out of 12 trial questions were valid, showing a significance value of less than 0.05. Furthermore, the reliability test, using Cronbach's Alpha, yielded scores of 0.812 for the pre-test and 0.830 for the post-test, both well above the 0.700 threshold, thus confirming the instrument's consistency. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ listening skills, with the mean score rising from 63.00 on the pre-test to 76.33 on the post-test. This improvement was statistically significant, as shown by a paired sample t-test with a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. A Shapiro-Wilk normality test confirmed the data was normally distributed, supporting the reliability of the statistical analysis. The findings strongly suggest that incorporating English songs as a learning medium is a highly effective method for enhancing students' listening skills.

Building of Early Childhood Personality through Routine Activities at SPS Anggrek Ganda Sari, Patrol District

This study aims to examine how routine activities and habituation contribute to the development of early childhood personality at SPS Anggrek Ganda Sari, Patrol Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency. Routine activities and habituation are essential components of early character education, as they help children learn values such as discipline, responsibility, independence, and social behavior. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of routine activities such as lining up, praying together, and tidying up toys and habituation practices such as greeting, sharing, and maintaining cleanliness foster the development of disciplined, independent, and responsible personalities in children. Thus, routine activities and habituation significantly contribute to shaping early childhood personality in educational settings.

Revitalization of Street Spirituality Through Islamic Religious Education for Punk at Pondok Tasawuf Underground

The concept of "street spirituality" is crucial in understanding how punk youth, despite being trapped in negative stereotypes, possess profound spiritual experiences and seek identity through transformative journeys. Pondok Tasawuf Underground serves as a sanctuary, offering a space for them to learn and grow spiritually. Through adaptive Islamic religious education, this institution not only imparts Islamic teachings but also adopts an inclusive approach tailored to the social context of punk youth. This qualitative research focuses on punk children engaged in religious studies at Pondok Tasawuf Underground, South Tangerang. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity ensured through source triangulation, method triangulation, and researcher triangulation. Data analysis involves reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Prior to the establishment of Pondok Tasawuf Underground, many punk youth lived in social alienation, entrenched in a street lifestyle burdened by stigma. Post-establishment, transformative changes emerged, with participants embracing prayer, Quranic studies, and structured living in a nurturing environment. The spiritual development of punk youth was facilitated by Ustaz Halim’s teachings on Islamic law (sharia) and social integration (hablum minallah wa hablum minannas).

Analysis of Challenges Faced by Teachers in Implementation of P5 within the Merdeka Curriculum

This study analyzes the challenges teachers face in implementing the pancasila student profile strengthening project (P5) at UPTD SD Negeri 2 Wirapanjunan within the Merdeka Curriculum. It focuseson teachers understanding of P5, implementation difficulties, and strategies to overcome them. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data we collected through interviews,observations, and documentation. Result show that teachers generally understand P5 as a way to instill pancasila values through project based learning, applied flexibly and contextually. However, student comprehension, especially in lower grades, varies. Key challenges include unclear regulations, limited teaching materials, difficulty explaining abstract concepts, adapting to the new curriculum, and scarce resources. Continous evaluation supports improvement. Despite technical and structural obstacles, teachers successfully implement P5, positively impacting student character, teacher competence, and learning quality. The study recommends clearer school policies, better teaching materials, and regular teacher discussions to enhance P5 implementation.
