Abstract

Environmental education is an effort to change the behavior and attitudes of individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and awareness of values, environmental problems as well as people's motivation to practice in environmental preservation efforts for present and future generations. In fact, environmental education material is not necessarily in demand by students, this was conveyed by Nurachmn, E & Anggraini, R (2007), that the subject of Environmental Education, in general, is still less attractive to some students. One of the factors that causes students to be less interested in environmental material, namely the teaching method of the teacher in delivering the material. Referring to several learning processes that are still conventional in delivering environmental education material, there is a need for more innovative learning methods. Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model is expected to become a new model in learning environmental education. This type of research is conducted using comparative quantitative research or experiment. The results of data analysis with a significance level ?=0,05, and degrees of freedom db =n1+n2?2=71 obtained thitung=4,37 and ttabel=1,669. From these data, it can be concluded that thitung>ttabel because thitung>ttabel so H0 accepted means that the average score of the learning outcomes of students who use the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model is greater than the control class who does not apply the Think Talk Write (TTW) or conventional model.
