Education in Indonesia has experienced various changes over time, in Indonesia education began during the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom and continued to develop during the Dutch colonial period. The development of education in Indonesia is also influenced by changes in the order of life, economic, social, political and cultural. Curriculum, teaching methods, access to education, and levels of education such as lower, lower secondary, upper secondary, and higher are examples of these changes.
The aims of this research are (1) to determine the influence of the Independent Curriculum on the critical thinking abilities of class V students at UPTD SDN 1 Kertajaya, (2) to determine the effectiveness of the independent curriculum in improving students' critical thinking abilities at UPTD SDN 1 Kertajaya. (3) Knowing that teachers can adapt themselves to the Independent Curriculum at UPTD SDN 1 Kertajaya. In this research, the research design uses a quantitative approach and uses experimental research. The population in this study were all class V students of UPTD SDN 1 Kertajaya, Bongas District, Indramayu Regency. Sampling in this research used random sampling techniques. So in this study the samples used were class V and class VI students. In this research, data collection uses post tests which function to determine the value of students' learning outcomes and creativity in problem solving.
The results of this research were obtained from the use of Merdeka Curriculum learning in improving critical thinking skills in Class V students of UPTD SDN 1 Kertajaya, Bongas District, Indramayu Regency using measuring instruments in the form of survey questionnaires and the results of data analysis that had been carried out, obtained the experimental class average and average -control class average . The hypothesis test used is the t-test and the values ??obtained are and . Because , then reject HO and accept Ha.
